RESTORED RECORDINGS 1968-1971
Spirit, Moon, & Stone
Spirit, Moon, & Stone was formed in Los Angeles in 1968 by three friends from Columbus, Ohio. Blending folk harmonies, hopeful idealism, and raw emotional honesty, the band briefly flickered through the California music scene before tragedy silenced it forever.Long believed lost after a plane crash in Big Sur in 1971, the band’s recordings remained unheard for more than five decades until a collection of backup tapes was discovered in an attic and painstakingly restored.
HARMONIES FROM ANOTHER ERA
Before the silence
Recorded between late nights, side jobs, and uncertain futures, these songs captured three young women searching for meaning, connection, and hope during one of the most turbulent times in American history.
VOICES AGAINST THE NOISE
Songs for a restless time
Written during the final years of the Vietnam era, the music of Spirit, Moon, & Stone carried the idealism, uncertainty, heartbreak, and hope of a generation searching for something better. Beneath the harmonies lived songs shaped by love, loss, and the fragile dream of peace.
THE YEARS BETWEEN
Golden Days
Friends first and musicians second, the band carried their lives into every performance: laughter, uncertainty, idealism, heartbreak, and the fierce belief that music could still change people. They moved through California like countless young dreamers of the era: fearless, hopeful, and unaware of how little time remained.
THE VOICE OF SPIRIT
Songs that remained
Friends remembered Spirit as fearless, compassionate, and endlessly driven to create. Through restored recordings and surviving photographs, fragments of that spirit now return to the world she left behind.Though her life was tragically cut short, she burned brightly in the time she was given.
